A Letter from County Commissioner George McMahon...
“RAISE THE BRIDGES” part of the Chisago Lakes Restoration Association , is a perfect example of dedicated citizens taking active participation in the future that we will leave the generations that follow.

I myself have always been a supporter of community involvement and citizens input, I have formed citizen advisory forms in my past government experience and will continue to do the same as a Chisago County Commissioner. Representation at its best reflects the citizens concerns and the community as a whole.

The “Big Lake” was changed, it appears, to let progress proceed with the growth of Chisago County and the highway system. We all understand in this day and age this would have never happened today with out the environment being number one consideration. What a wonderful opportunity we have, as a community, to turn back the clock and restore the asset that nature has given us.

The Chisago Lakes Association needs to be commended for its raising of the alarm, that opportunity is knocking now, before the completion of highway 8, we should not as citizens let this opportunity pass us or our children by. I support and recommend the work of “RAISE THE BRIDGES”.
